Spa Pool Removal Melbourne
Spa pool removal made easy. We disconnect, dismantle and remove old spa pools and hot tubs. Full cleanup included.
Old spa or hot tub taking up half the backyard? We remove spa pools and hot tubs across Melbourne - disconnect, drain, dismantle and haul away, with a full clean-up so you're left with clear, usable space. It's an awkward, heavy job; we do it properly so you don't have to.
What removing a spa actually involves
A spa pool isn't a lift-and-go item. Depending on the unit we'll disconnect the power and plumbing, drain any remaining water, and dismantle or cut the shell down where it can't be carried out whole. Old acrylic and fibreglass spas are heavy and unwieldy, and most won't fit back through the side gate they came in through years ago - so on-site dismantling is usually part of the job. We handle all of it and clean up after.
Why spa removal is a specialist job
We bring the crew and the gear to deal with all of it safely, so there's no risk to you or your property.
- They're heavy - a dry spa shell can weigh 150kg+, more with a surround or decking.
- Access is tight - most sit in a back corner with narrow side access, decking or steps in the way.
- They need dismantling - many have to be cut into sections on site to get them out.
- Power and plumbing - hard-wired spas need safe disconnection before removal.
What spa removal costs
Cost is the thing people search for most on this, so here is the honest shape of it. A portable plug-in spa sitting on a slab with clear side access is the cheap end. What pushes it up is the work, not the spa: a unit set into decking, a backyard reached only through the house, a spa that has to be cut down before it will pass a gate, or a swim spa that needs more crew.
We price it as a fixed quote from photos rather than an hourly rate, so the number does not move once we are there. Send a picture of the spa and one of the access route and we will give you the figure the same day. As with everything we do, we will beat any comparable written quote by 10%.
Where the spa ends up
A spa is not one material, which is why tipping it whole is the worst option. Once it is dismantled the steel frame and any metal componentry go to scrap, the motor and pump are electrical waste and handled as e-waste, timber surrounds and decking offcuts are separated, and the acrylic and fibreglass shell is the part that genuinely has to go to disposal.
Splitting it that way is why a spa removal diverts far more than people expect. It is the same approach behind the roughly 80% of everything we collect across Melbourne that is recycled, repurposed or donated.
Spas and hot tubs, not in-ground pools
Worth being clear, because the searches run together: we remove spas, hot tubs and swim spas - the units that sit on a slab, a deck or the ground. We also take away the debris if a pool has already been broken up by someone else.
We do not remove in-ground swimming pools. That is excavation and structural work needing a licensed contractor, permits and usually an engineer. If that is your job, get a pool demolition specialist for the removal and call us for the waste afterwards.
Access, decking and clean-up
Tight backyard, a spa built into a deck, or one that has to come out over a fence? Tell us the access situation when you call and we'll bring the right approach. We remove the spa, any surround or decking offcuts it leaves behind, and sweep the space so it's ready for whatever's next - a new deck, lawn or just a clear patch of yard.
